Visiting the docter can be scary as hell. When you are small, everything around you looks huge. So why don’t they make everything look nicer? Injections all the sudden aren’t that painful anymore when they are given with the airplane or rocket syringes and covered with bug plasters.

Utrecht verplettert consists a group of young designers who present themselves as a collective. I designed the flyer and logo, last said has also been used on rolls of tape wich were spread trough the whole city, as a virus.

A collection of play objects, connected directly to the childs body by a dress. Inspired by four mental illness syndromes, free translated into toys. each dress tells his own story: the imaginary friend tells about a dress with a big bow at the end of the skipping rope, so the child can choose it’s own friend while connecting the rope to a permanent object, for instance a tree. The compulsion neuroses dress has sleeves that flit into a skipping rope, so the child is basically forced to move in the same, certain way. Chase fear is a toy that follows and chases the child everywhere it will go. And collective anger is about a big bunch of stuffed toys. They can be connected to each other and to the dress by knotting their long arms or skinny bodies.
The appearance refers in a fine way to a strait-jacket: it closes at the back with big bows, and because of the clinical colour.

Utrecht school of the arts wanted to offer recently graduated students the possibility to expose their products. Shops and galleries trough the whole citycentre participated and there arose a surprising cooperation. I was asked to do the artwork, including the decoration of the windows. It tells the story of a group young creatives, entering the designworld, curious as hell, and that immediately exaplains the drops.

for kids, there are many ways to get dirty. wouldn’t it be fun for them then to transform plastic bags into protective clothing for their bodies or clothes? And to combine functionality with easthetics? A pre-printed roll of garbage bags with three different prints: The princess, the cavalier and the apron. All they have to do is to following the dotted lines with their scissors to remove the arm and head parts, and they can wear their clothes while playing as a disguise, or to prevent them from getting dirty while painting or playing outside.

a group of stuffed animals, which are approximately 40 inch high, each. They can be used as sticks, while playing, for instance in bed. Now children can build their own little world by throwing a blanket over them.

Matter is transient, and it is this proces that I have tried to portray in an accelerated manner in this collection of transient rings. They can only be worn shortly, but repeatedly.
